Education
The Tulane University Libraries are the academic heart of the university, providing essential resources and services to support the educational and research needs of students, faculty, and staff. After thorough analysis and creative exploration, we created this new identity with a focus on what is truly important for their users, drawing inspiration from New Orleans’ vibrant culture and honoring its heritage while reflecting its modern values.
We incorporated vintage typography reminiscent of jazz album covers and classic posters. This design choice celebrates the connection between the city’s rich cultural past and Tulane’s academic community. Recognizing the library’s primary function as a study space, we developed a visual system using sticky notes and markers to emphasize its role as a learning haven.
The new branding adopts Tulane’s iconic green in a sleek, contemporary design, with an updated monogram drawn from the original brand’s shield. This approach honors Tulane’s heritage while reflecting its modern values and aesthetic, creating a strong link with the university’s identity.
